The Americ, man-made creation, names Doumbek drums, also called a goblet drum. It also known by different name in many countries of the worlds depend on the part of the world the where this instrument is being used. Like in Israel and turkey it called as a dumbbell or as a darbuka name, while Arabic region musicians termed as a word like tabla drum and or tablah. Some other commonly used names for this doumbek are Darbuk, Derbakeh, Dombuk, Derbakeh, Doubouk, Doumbeg, and many more, long lists of these names.

The oldest drum was obtained are found in back dated to years ago of 4000 B.C., the place is Bohemia and made by the ceramic material. The turkey and Egypt also have past history and proof of this drum because of that the drums are referred to as an Alexandria doumbek.
