The negative side of debt settlement - how it affects your credit

Such debt negotiations can seriously affect your credit as your credibility and ability to pay back would under scanner. If you are opting for debt settlement instead of debt consolidation most of the creditors would resort to legal measures to collect dues from you. As a result you may be facing judicial proceedings, liens and garnishments at the worst.
On rare occasions the creditors may not agree for debt settlement and on such occasions you will end up with bad credit status. You may not even be able to get a bill consolidation benefit or even chances to have it. For the time being it may seem that everything is lost for you. You are disheartened as you do not see any way out of the abyss with no credit, no relaxation coming your way with your bad credit report. In addition there would be the reports generated by the consumer credit report companies that would put you to a stigma for no less than seven years at the minimum.
There is however a ray of hope for you as debt help in such cases is made available by the debt consolidation companies who normally come up with a credit repair service that would wipe out the negative sides in your credit reports.
